An elegant English Oak Fruit Bowl, which has been twice turned, meaning that when the timber was unseasoned with a high moisture content, it was turned to a rough and inaccurate shape.  Glue was then applied to the end grain and then it was left to dry for about nine months.  When I rediscovered this piece, due to the movement of the seasoning process, it was practically an oval!  With careful planning and refinement, a delicate evenly walled fruit bowl emerged.   This piece of Oak has rich definition between the heart wood and sap wood, with minor burring in places.

 Finished with Food Safe Danish Oil
