A tall Sycamore Fruit or Salad Bowl, which has a clean modern design with a refined, slightly arched rim.  This minimalist design lends itself to kitchen items as it looks stylish, but is also functional and easy to clean, keeping the bowl long lasting and hygienic.  Sycamore is one of the best choices of UK native timber for use with food as, when compared to many other timbers, it is by far the healthiest and least reactive to food exposure.  Used in the Dairy Industry for hundreds of years, it has stood the test of time.  This piece features some interesting figure and large patches of silkwood.

Treated with ‘Chestnut Products Food Safe Finish’, which is a clear mineral oil base, this bowl will last longest when oil is reapplied to it after repeated uses.  Clean with warm soapy water but do not leave immersed and allow to properly dry.  Wooden Salad tongs are recommended to avoid scratching.  A suitable oil to maintain its current finish is Clear Chopping Board Oil, though other food safe oils can be applied over time.
